Learn from professional guitarist Danny McCrum.  Lessons are one on one and individually adapted to the students’ personal goals and musical preferences. There is a long list of songs to choose from and the student is also welcome to suggest songs they would like to learn. The fundamentals of technique and theory are mostly covered within the context of songs, which enables people to progress faster and makes the experience more enjoyable. We cover most styles and all levels. Additionally, Danny has taught guitar at Auckland University and can help with your school or University music courses.


Lessons are held weekly from Monday to Thursday. There are several price options available, starting from $39 per half hour lesson. They are conveniently located in central Auckland, local to Mt Albert, Mt Roskill and Mt Eden.

Beginners

Hi, I'm Danny, I have over 30 years experience playing and teaching guitar.

Danny McCrum has worked with and supported many top artists including Eric Clapton, Tommy Emmanuel, John Mayer, John Butler Trio, Jeff Beck, Bryan Ferry, Norah Jones, Jimmy Barnes, Simple Minds and many top New Zealand acts. He’s worked as a session musician for numerous producers and artists including Greg Haver, Lizzie Marvelly, Peter van Gent, Alex Burke (US), Magnolia Memoir (US), Phil Edwards Band, Georgia Lines, AutoMatic 80s, the Michael Jackson tribute show 'King Of Pop’, Debbie Harwood, Stephen Small, Emme Lentino (NZ/US) and Venice Quin. Danny has released five albums and hosted the popular entertainment podcast Don’t Give Up. He currently performs with Campbell, The Buskers, Noise Play and more. Danny has taught guitar at Auckland University and has been teaching private lessons for twenty years.
