We are now holding regular group jam sessions for guitarists. Continue reading to find out more, sign up below and email us if you have any further questions.
Who?
Jam sessions are available to my regular guitar students and members of the public. Group sizes will be restricted so the sessions remain productive for everyone. These sessions are designed for adults only (18 +).
How?
First, you sign up for the next Jam Session via the form below. I'll then send you a confirmation email and a song to learn for the next session.
For each song there will be several versions available, to match people's various skill levels. All versions will work together, so we can play the songs as a group. Some people will be strumming basic chords, some will be playing more interesting chord voicing and strum/picking patterns, some will be picking melodies and some will play guitar solos.
You can choose the level you're comfortable trying and volunteer to upgrade at any time.
Attendees are welcome to bring either an acoustic or electric guitar but please note: Electric guitarists will need to bring their own amps and will be asked to maintain a reasonable volume.
Why?
Students often ask me how they can find other musicians to jam with. In accommodating this request, I hope people will enjoy meeting new people with the same hobby. You might even decide to get together and jam some more in your own time.
Playing music with other people is really fun and teaches you a lot about music in a real playing context.
The sessions will demonstrate how music is structured, arranged and developed and will help guitar students contextualise some of the topics covered in their lessons.
When?
The Jams will be held monthly on select on Friday nights and Saturday afternoons.

Onehunga Community House - 83 Selwyn Street Onehunga, Auckland
Cost?
$50 (Inc GST) for a 90 minute Jam Session.

Attendees Comments
"Jam sessions are a great addition to regular guitar lessons. Collaborating with other people on a piece of music helps everyone get better at arrangements and dynamics, boosts creativity and improves our interaction skills with other musicians. It's also a fantastic way to meet like-minded people who enjoy all things guitar and music."

"If you want to learn guitar Danny is your man. He has a great programme and I felt relaxed and comfortable from the start. He listen and guided me from beginner to where I feel confident to play in any company."
